My husband and I love fall. Its the first season where we can finally break out all our cozy sweaters, wool socks, and boots that we love! When we decided to take some ‘family photos’ (it’s just us) we knew that we wanted to do them in fall.
Fast forward to November, and I want to order Christmas cards! Only problem is that our photos don’t look very “Christmas-y”, so I looked for card designs that still looked festive but actually went along with the colors in our photos.
What I love about Shutterfly is that they have SO MANY great options for their Holiday and Christmas cards! I wanted to find an option that said “Happy Holidays” because I was planning on sending them out before Thanksgiving and I wanted to include that holiday in it! BUT like usual I didn’t get them sent out till December, so my cards awkwardly include “Happy Thanksgiving” on the back of them.
I chose to use the Ornate Snowflake Frame card because the red and gold option really went along well with out photos while still being Christmas-y, and I immediately fell in love with them after I came to terms with the fact that I couldn’t use the Happiest Script Banner card since it put a line through my husband’s head with the photo I wanted to use. It’s called compromise, people.
Check out how awesome these Christmas Cards turned out!
I also love how Shutterfly lets you add details to the back of the Christmas cards so it’s not just plain white! I loved being able to write my note and add a second picture. In addition to the card itself, Shutterfly offers different colored envelopes, envelope liners, and customized address labels and even stamps. You can even select the option of uploading your address book, and they will pack and mail them out for you if you like!
I am so thrilled with how our Christmas Cards turned out, and I honestly can’t wait till next year when we get to pick out new designs! Did you love these cards? Leave me a note in the comments!
As a side note; our photographers are our dear friends Josh and Cari Allred of Allred and Co. They’ve done our engagement photos, our wedding video, and now our ‘family photos’ and they knock it out of the pack every time. They are located here in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, but they travel all over for various different projects. Please go check out their website for further information.
